Manuka honey (MGO 514+) Manuka honey is harvested from the South Sea myrtle tree by honey bees in New Zealand and has been used there for many generations. What makes the honey so special is the methylglyoxal, which is contained in Manuka honey in a concentration that is a hundred times higher than in conventional flower honeys. The MGO value describes the ingredient in milligrams per kilogram and serves as a measure of the quality of the honey.
Calendula extract (Calendula officinalis flowers) In addition to its pronounced nourishing properties, marigold can soothe irritated areas.
Lactic acid (Acidum lacticum, pH: 2.8) The lactic acid lowers the pH value (pH 2.8) to an environment that is inhospitable to Malassezia and also to bacteria.
