Antibiotic therapies, deworming or even an infestation of parasites can disrupt the balance of the intestinal flora. The substantial amount of probiotic intestinal cultures in FloraComplex ensures that they survive the passage through the stomach in sufficient numbers and reach the intestines. There, they help stabilize the intestinal flora and can thereby act to strengthen the immune system. Thanks to the inulin present in FloraComplex, the cultures accumulate in the intestine, where they serve as a nutrient base for various microorganisms.

Ingredients (excerpt)

  • Enterococcus faecium (cultures de bactéries probiotiques)

Enterococcus faecium cultures help to naturally replenish the intestinal flora. They colonize the intestine and support the regulation of intestinal peristalsis. In addition, the cultures also help to reduce the presence of pathogenic intestinal bacteria in the intestine. They compete with the pathogens for receptors on the intestinal epithelium and change the luminal pH in a way that affects the binding ability of pathogenic intestinal bacteria. This is particularly beneficial in the case of a weakened intestine, where harmful microorganisms can be displaced in favor of the natural intestinal flora.

  • Purple coneflower extract (Echinacea purpurea herba)

In vivo studies have shown that various Echinacea preparations have an immune-modulatory effect when administered orally.

  • Inulin (prebiotic)

Inulin belongs to the genus of prebiotics, i.e. oligosaccharides, which are not digestible by the body's own enzymes. Therefore, it is a fermentable substrate for the bacteria of the intestinal flora. Inulin can promote the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria such as Enterococcus faecium - whereas pathogenic germs do not benefit. Consequently, inulin is recognized as having a positive effect on the immune system. Organic acids are released when intestinal bacteria such as Enterococcus faecium metabolize inulin. These acids have a stabilizing effect on the intestinal micro-biota. Last sentence: Studies conducted on puppies have shown that inulin added to the food reduces colonization of Salmonellae.
