“The heroes of the gut” and what it is all about…

Important vitamins, enzymes and fatty acids are formed in the intestinal microbiome. But even an otherwise relaxed microbiome can become unbalanced because of antibiotic therapy, deworming or the infestation of pathogens. In these cases, the immune system needs support.

The probiotic intestinal cultures in FloraComplex stabilize the gut flora and strengthen the immune system. FloraComplex² and FloraComplex³ are an addition to the original FloraComplex. These contain our personal probiotic heroes are Enterococcus faecium, Lactobacillus acidophilus and the super bacteria Bacillus subtilis.

Enterecoccus faecium is a gram-positive, facultative, anaerobic streptococci bacteria belonging to the enterococcal genus. Enterococcus faecium passes through the stomach unharmed and multiplies rapidly in the gut. Well there, it lowers the pH value by producing lactic acid. Enterococcus faecium also displaces pathogenic germs and stabilises the gut flora.

Lactobacillus acidophilus is a gram-positive, facultative, anaerobic bacillus. It is one of the most well-researched probiotics for cat and dog health. The bacteria produces lactic acid, improves the consistency of the faeces, reduces the amount of fecal E. coli bacteria and inhibits the reproduction of clostridia and other enteropathogens. In addition, Lactobacillus acidophilus modulates the local immune defence and protects the intestinal epithelium from pathogenic adhesion.

By consuming oxygen and producing certain enzymes, the Bacillus subtilis bacteria strain can create a comfortable environment for beneficial bacteria in the gut. Bacillus subtilis spores survive the low pH value in the stomach and multiply in the intestines. Supplementing the diet with Bacillus subtilis reduces the ammonia content and pH of the feces, which improves the fecal consistency and supports digestion. In addition, Bacillus subtilis helps to achieve a shiny, beautiful coat.

FloraComplex² and FloraComplex³ contain highly concentrated intestinal cultures with two and three different bacterial strains, respectively. Coming in the shape of a powder, the heroes of the intestine can be easily administered and do not need to be stored in the refrigerator. These are also suitable for pets suffering from allergies and/or diabetes.
