Milk Protein Hydrolysate Alpha-casozepine, a peptide derived from casein, is a natural component of breast milk in mammals. It supports the release of the neurotransmitter GABA, which due to its nutritional properties can have a positive effect on sleep and can have a relaxing effect during situations of anxiety and stress. This is similar to the effect seen in puppies after suckling.
L-Tryptophan is an amino acid and a precursor of the happiness hormone serotonin.
Dextrose plays an important role in increasing the bioavailability of L-tryptophan in the brain. This occurs by raising blood sugar levels and the subsequent release of insulin. The release of insulin directs larger amino acids to the muscles, allowing L-tryptophan to no longer compete with other amino acids for the transporters that normally carry amino acids to the brain. This enables increased transport of L-tryptophan to the brain.
Hop Tincture (Humulus lupulus) has long been used traditionally to relieve anxiety and restlessness as it has natural calming properties.
Passionflower Extract (Passiflora incarnata) has long been used traditionally to relieve anxiety and restlessness. This effect is thanks to its natural calming and anxiolytic properties.
B Vitamins, especially folic acid and vitamin B6, play an important role in serotonin metabolism.
